Friends and Family
I always sounded the ’s' in Debuys…. he never did. He always pronounced it precisely French with a pause, a reminder of his deep roots in the Gulf Coast and New Orleans. With a law degree from Tulane, and an Old Miss alumnus, he never managed anything resembling work. He was given a hotel to run in the Quarter by a college friend, and that lasted less than a year before he wanderer off in search of the center of the cosmos. His head and heart were in the stars, but he had an excellent golf swing. JT
I had this scroll put away to give to Jim the next time he was in town. Jim and I shared a philosophy,
light in the soul
beauty in the person
harmony in the house
order in the nation
peace in the world.
